Program

KindKin Collective is a self-directed learning community for youth ages 7 and up, providing a flexible and engaging environment where children can explore their interests, collaborate with peers, and learn at their own pace. Our program fosters creativity, critical thinking, and independence through a mix of hands-on activities, clubs, and open-ended learning opportunities. We welcome families who value a child-led approach to education and a supportive community of like-minded learners.

KindKin will be open Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM, August 2025 through May 2026.

Tuition

Tuition and Sliding Scale

Enrollment at KindKin Collective is a commitment to our shared community of learners. Tuition supports our space, materials, and facilitator time, and allows us to keep this self-directed learning environment thriving.

School Year: August 5, 2025 – May 28, 2026
Deposit: One month’s tuition, due upon registration
Discount: 5% off for families who pay full annual tuition at the start of the year
Vendor: We are a Heartwood Charter School multi-subject vendor and accept purchase orders.

Commitment

Enrollment at KindKin Collective is a commitment for the full academic year.
While tuition can be paid monthly, your registration reserves a learner’s place for the entire school year. This consistency allows us to build meaningful relationships, plan offerings, and maintain a steady rhythm for our community.

We understand that family circumstances can change. If something shifts during the year, please reach out so we can discuss options together with care and transparency.

Sliding Scale Tuition

We trust families to select the tier that best reflects their financial situation and values.
Each tier plays an important role in keeping our community sustainable and inclusive.

Community Rate (Reduced): For families who need financial accessibility.
Sustainer Rate (Standard): Reflects the true cost of running the program.
Supporter Rate (Pay-It-Forward): Helps us keep KindKin accessible for others.

3 Days per Week

Community Rate: $600 / month
Sustainer Rate: $750 / month
Supporter Rate: $900 / month

2 Days per Week

Community Rate: $400 / month
Sustainer Rate: $500 / month
Supporter Rate: $650 / month

1 Day per Week

Community Rate: $225 / month
Sustainer Rate: $275 / month
Supporter Rate: $350 / month

When each family contributes what they can, we all share in sustaining a joyful, trusting learning environment for every child.

Flexible Monthly Enrollment

We also offer a month-to-month option for families who want to experience KindKin without a full-year commitment. Monthly tuition is slightly higher to reflect the administrative and scheduling flexibility this requires and is subject to available space.

Monthly Enrollment Rates

3 days per week: $775 / month
2 days per week: $525 / month
1 day per week: $300 / month

Families choosing monthly enrollment should confirm participation by the 15th of the previous month.
Monthly enrollment does not include a deposit and cannot guarantee space beyond the paid month.

Are there any scholarships?

YES! Thanks to a grant from VELA, we are thrilled to be able to offer scholarships! In order to serve as many families as possible, we are only offering partial scholarships at this time. Scholarships can be used to offset the cost of tuition and for the deposit. Send us an email!

Please reach out if you'd like to contribute to the creation of a scholarship fund or be on the waiting list for future scholarships.
